join The 2019/2020 grow Season

As Industrial hemp is licensed under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2006, a license needs to be proven and obtained by the Ministry of Health.

Hemp Licenses in New Zealand can sometimes take up to 12 weeks (3 months) to process. Because of this reason we encourage new farmers to submit their application as soon as possible to be able to participate in the 2019/2020 grow season.

We would advise submitting a new application no later than 30th June 2019 to make sure you are considered legally for this season’s grow.

Useful Information When applying

  • As a responsible person on the license you will be required to submit 2x forms of photo ID and proof of address.

  • A filled out police vetting form for each responsible person on the license will need to accompany your application.

  • People with existing drug charges or criminal records are not considered for hemp licenses (best to leave these people off the application).

  • You will need to provide a map of your intended industrial hemp crop area. A Screenshot from google maps with annotations can be a good way to do this.

  • The application is digital and can be filled out on a computer however the signature page will need to be printed and signed.

  • A general Industrial Hemp (Low THC) License costs $511.11 + GST and you will be invoiced upon the acceptance of the application.
